What We Do

Abortion Funding

RRFP does direct service through abortion funding, or giving grants to women, trans and gender nonconforming pregnant people, along with practical support when possible (transportation, lodging, clinic escorting), so that people can access their abortion procedures.

Learn more about abortion funding in Virginia here, or call us toll-free at 1-888-847-1593 for more information about RRFP funding services.

Leadership Building and Skills Sharing

We value all the people we work with, including our callers and volunteers, with the hope that experiences with RRFP foster an environment of collective liberation for all involved. Currently, we are in the midst of developing concrete programming to breakdown the hierarchy of service providers, volunteers, and clients that increases access to concrete skills so that we can all get free. Click here for more info about volunteering, or here for more info on trainings/events and other ways to plug in!

Healing Space

In the past, RRFP has hosted reproductive health story sharing circles to breakdown stigma and shame regarding how our bodies are politicized, policed, and traumatized as we try to navigate reproductive health in all aspects. Sharing stories is a way for us to build community and trust. To contact us about hosting an RRFP Reproductive Health Story Sharing event, please contact us at hello@rrfp.net.

Richmond Doula Project

Richmond Doula Project (RDP) is a new partnership with RRFP. RDP provides free emotional, spiritual, and physical support and education to all pregnant people, no matter the outcome of the pregnancy. Learn more about their work here, or contact doulaproject@rrfp.net or (804) 762-0464 to get connected to a full spectrum doula or to get involved.

Arts and Crafts

RRFP is all about DIY, especially when it comes to merch making! One of our values as an organization is to keep it cute and creative. We skill-share and make things together all the time, especially to raise funds for abortions, including through zine-making, embroidery, and screen printing. We also have Propaganda and Zine volunteer Teams!

Fundraising

RRFP partially supports its work through grassroots fundraising, which looks different every year. This means you could use your own skills, hobbies, and passions to fundraise for us. In the past, we've had folks host house shows with local musicians, dinner parties, grits wrestling tournaments, special nights at local bars, and personal appeals to raise the money we use for abortion funding. Learn more about our annual fundraising season called Fund-a-thon (FAT)!

Advocacy

RRFP is available for speaking events and partners with other organizations on grassroots campaigns that forefront Reproductive Justice and how abortion funding functions in the context of social justice issues and larger movement building. We are a member of the Virginia Reproductive Equity Alliance (VREA), and have partnered with organizations such as the National Network of Abortion Funds, Southerners on New Ground, the Virginia Anti-Violence Project, the Richmond Area Sexuality Network, Virginia League for Planned Parenthood, University of Richmond's Office of Common Ground, Virginia Defenders for Freedom, Justice & Equality, and more on advocacy efforts.

Choice Your Own Adventure Interactive Workshop

Choice Your Own Adventure (CYOA) is an interactive zine-making workshop where participants navigate the barriers to abortion access in Virginia. Participants leave this workshop with their own personalized zine and some knowledge about what “choice” really looks like. This workshop is an educational tool about the world of abortion funding in the context of Reproductive Justice. If you want to have RRFP facilitate a Choose Your Own Adventure workshop, contact us at hello@rrfp.net.
